“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 · NKJV
We know what it is to carry burdens
Life can leave us weary. We carry worries, regrets, responsibilities, and questions. The Lord Jesus knows our need. His invitation is warm and personal: “Come to Me.”
He directs us to Himself. A change of routine, self-improvement, religious rules, or joining a church cannot give the forgiveness and peace with God that our souls need.
Our deepest burden
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, NKJV). Sin is more than a troubling feeling: it makes us guilty before God. We cannot remove that guilt by trying harder or balancing it against good deeds.
We need a Saviour who can deal with sin itself.
Christ has done what we could not do
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He lived without sin and willingly gave Himself for sinners. “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3, NKJV). He was buried and rose again.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7). The cross is the foundation of the forgiveness He offers.
“I will give you rest”
The Lord Jesus offers rest grounded in His finished work. We can stop trying to earn acceptance with God and trust the Saviour who gave Himself for us.
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1, NKJV). This peace rests on a right relationship with God through Christ.
Come to Him
His invitation remains open to you. Come in personal faith, trusting who He is and what He has done. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31, NKJV).
We would be glad to open the Bible with you, listen to your questions, and help you understand His promise.
